The device plays music using 2,000 marbles

Swedish musician has created an instrument that can make music by dropping 2,000 marbles onto it. The marbles move along tracks and make contact with drums, cymbals, and a vibraphone. The marbles land on different instruments creating sounds that can change in pitch, speed and volume. The central wheel rotates and launches the marbles. The video below shows the machine in action.

Martin Molin from Sweden spent seven months creating the Marble Machine. This machine uses 2,000 marbles to produce soft music. The marbles impact different parts of each machine, such as a vibraphone or bass guitar, vibraphone or a Turkish crashcymbal. You can manually turn it on and off, and the marbles will re-use as it plays.

Wintergatan Marble Machine uses birch plywood and operates by a series if gears. The marbles are used to create music and travel around the circuit. The marbles act as cymbals. They also function as a bass, kick drum, and bass. Several of the parts, including funnels and pulleys, are made from LEGO technic parts. The device doubles as an instrument for wooden music.

The device generates 400 mJ of energy

The device works by harvesting energy from sweat that accumulates in your fingertips. The fingertips are among the most sweaty spots in the body, with over 1,000 sweat glands per fingertip. These glands can produce energy under pressure and can be stored to charge an electronic watch for as long as 24 hours. One study showed that subjects could keep the device at their fingertips while they slept. This generated 400 millijoules. This is equivalent to about 10% of the energy the sun hits the Earth each instant.

The device draws sweat from your fingertip

To recharge your devices, the device uses energy from your sweat. The area where sweat is most concentrated in the fingertip is the largest. Each fingertip has over 1000 sweat glands that can produce 400 millijoules energy. This is enough energy to power an electronic watch for 24 hours.

The device works by using the dissolved lactate in your sweat to generate electricity. This energy can then be used to power wearable medical devices, such as blood pressure and heart monitors. The biofuel battery looks like a small pad attached to your fingers. It is made from hydrogel and carbon nanotubes.

An average 10-hour-long sleep can produce 20-40 microwatts per fingertip. It wouldn't be sufficient to power a smartphone but it could power a watch and other electronic devices with lower power. This could keep your wristwatch online for up to 24 hours. Because it has the most sweat glands, researchers decided to use your fingertip. Each finger has more that a thousand glands.

How To

How do I make a grocery list?

A grocery list should include items you regularly buy at your local supermarket. It should include the following categories:

  • Produce (vegetables, fruits)
  • Meat/fish
  • Dairy products: milk, cheese, yogurt
  • Snacks & sweets
  • Drinks
  • Other groceries

A grocery list should be simple. Not writing down every meal you eat each day is a waste of time and can lead to a complicated list. Find out which ingredients you use most often and add them to your grocery list. Add something new to your repertoire if you enjoy it.

You can also save yourself some work if you know which recipes you often cook. You can search online for the ingredients and then print the recipe. Alternatively, you can always take a picture of the ingredient list and put it into Evernote, so you can easily access it later.
